Medication Helper ("the App") is developed by Chao Shen. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Summary

Medication Helper is designed with privacy at its core. Your medication data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information.

Data That Stays on Your Device

• Photos of medication labels — captured and processed entirely on your iPhone. Photos are stored locally and never uploaded to any server.
• Saved medication cards — stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Only you can access them.

Network Requests

The App may make requests to the following public, government-operated databases to identify your medication:

• OpenFDA (api.fda.gov) — U.S. Food & Drug Administration drug label database
• DailyMed (dailymed.nlm.nih.gov) — National Library of Medicine drug information service

These requests contain only the barcode number or NDC code scanned from the medication label. No personal information, device identifiers, or photos are sent.

Camera & Reminders

• Camera — used only to scan medication labels. Photos are processed on-device and never leave your phone.
• Reminders — if you choose to add a medication reminder, the App creates an entry in Apple Reminders on your device. This is entirely optional.

No Tracking

The App does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. No data is collected about how you use the App.

No Accounts

The App does not require or support user accounts, sign-in, or registration of any kind.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
